Financial Assistance

The Awty Fund offers financial assistance to help Aicardi families build the support systems they need to navigate life with Aicardi syndrome. Grants are designed to provide meaningful, practical support that helps families access resources, create connections, and care for themselves and their loved ones.

Examples of expenses that may be eligible for assistance include but are not limited to:

• Respite care to give caregivers time to rest, recharge, or attend to other family needs

• Fees associated with bringing a nurse or caregiver to the aicardi conference for families unable to utilize childcare due to a tracheostomy

• Travel to the Friendship fling or similar community building opportunities

• Travel and registration fees associated with attending educational opportunities (Epilepsy awareness day at disneyland, lgs conference, etc)

• tuition for siblings to attend summer camp or other community building opportunities

• fees associated with grief support programs

When possible, the Awty Fund will pay approved expenses directly to the service provider, organization, or vendor. In some circumstances, families may be eligible for reimbursement for an expense, provided the grant application is approved before the expense is incurred.

Grant applications will open soon, with grants expected to be awarded in Q1 2027.
